Norsk Logopedlag (NLL) is an interest group for speech and language therapists (SLT). The purpose of our work is to influence policies and public opinion, and to contribute to further development of speech and language therapy as a discipline.

We do not have the authority to recognize foreign higher education. Foreign SLT´s are advised to contact NOKUT (, an independent expert body under the Ministry of Education and Research. NOKUT evaluates education, and compares it to the Norwegian degree structure, i.e. whether it is equivalent to a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PHD. A NOKUT-recognition is voluntary and is intended as an aid when wishing to enter the Norwegian work force. Norwegian employers of speech and language therapists tend to ask foreign applicants for a NOKUT-recognition of their education.

Any person with a NOKUT-recognized speech and language therapy education on a master’s level, and who accepts NLL’s statutes, is eligible to become a member of NLL. To become a member, you will need to have your Norwegian language skills documented with a Norwegian language test on the highest level. We encourage foreign speech and language therapists to apply for membership with NLL.
